If you’re like us, you’ll have heaps of wool fabric scraps laying around, from previous craft projects but really just collecting dust. Why not show off your collection this Christmas with a super easy rag wreath.
What you’ll need:

Making couldn’t be simpler:
Start off by cutting a load of fabric strips, using pinking scissors means your fabric won’t fray. We used strips roughly 15cm long and 1.5cm width. The width depends on the thickness of your fabric- we found the thinner the easier it was to tie into a strong knot. Repeat with as many different varieties of fabric as you have.
Taking one strip at a time, knot the fabric around one of the wires. It’s that simple! Keep knotting and bunching up each knot close to the previous to ensure the best coverage. Try not to use the same colour strip directly next to each other for that multi-colour random look.
Continue to work your way around the wire wreath, making sure to pack the knots in as closely as possible.
Once you’ve finished, work out which side you want to be the top and add a wool hanging loop to the back and its ready for the front door, above the fireplace or wherever you want to show it off!
Here is our wreath at British Wool’s Head Office, its quite a hit with our visitors! We would love to see your wreaths. Please tag us @BritishWool and by using the hashtag #britishwool.
