Devon Duvets, the award-winning family business known for its handcrafted, sustainable wool bedding, is taking its next big step—expanding into the European market.
Founded over 17 years ago by husband-and-wife team Dick and Pauline Beijen. Devon Duvets has built a reputation for producing premium, 100% British wool bedding that champions sustainability and supports British farmers. Now, the company is set to grow its customer base across Europe with the launch of a Dutch language website. The first in a series of new websites designed for EU customers.
Co-founder Dick Beijen, who was born in the Netherlands, says it was a natural place to begin.
“We’ve seen growing interest from EU customers who are drawn to our ethos and products. Launching a Dutch language site makes it easier for them to shop and learn about our commitment to quality and sustainability.”
Backed by targeted marketing campaigns, the site launched in mid-May and offers Dutch customers a tailored shopping experience, complete with information in their native language. And it doesn’t stop there—Devon Duvets is already planning additional multilingual websites to reach customers in other European countries.
Despite the international expansion, the heart of the business remains in Devon. All products will to be handcrafted by skilled seamstresses in their Devon-based workshops using 100% traceable British wool. By working closely with British Wool, they ensure local farmers receive fair prices for their fleeces—well above market value.
Sustainability is woven into every part of the business. From responsible sourcing to ethical auditing by SEDEX. Devon Duvets remains committed to running a business that respects both people and the planet.
As the company steps into the European market, it’s doing more than selling bedding. It’s flying the flag for British-made quality and values.
