Dinefwr Blankets is a family‑run Welsh textile house rooted in generations of weaving heritage. For Jonathan and Marlene, wool is not a trend but a lived family tradition stretching back through the woollen mills of Wales.
Their ancestors worked at the loom, in dye vats, and in rural mills such as Penwern in Cribyn and across the woollen communities of Carmarthenshire, where blankets were made to last a lifetime and cherished across generations.
Their story also reaches across the Atlantic. In the late 19th century, Jonathan’s great-great grandfather, David Humphreys, carried Welsh weaving knowledge to the Blackinton mills of Massachusetts—part of a wave of skilled Welsh workers whose craftsmanship shaped the American woollen industry. Today, Dinefwr Blankets honours this lineage by creating 100% wool blankets inspired by centuries-old Welsh patterns.
Designed in Wales and finished in their Llandeilo workshop, each blanket is made in partnership with trusted UK artisan weavers who share their commitment to traditional methods and natural materials. With four restored vintage Dobcross looms ready for future use, their long-term mission is to bring weaving fully back in-house, continuing the rhythm of their ancestors’ craft.
Every blanket carries echoes of Wales—its history, its resilience, and the families who kept these patterns alive.
