UNDERLAY

In the 1990’s Fairbank Textiles extended their production capabilities to manufacture a range of different needled felts with and without scrim to cover a broad range of requirements to meet the demands of the markets they supply.

They have developed fabrics using 100% scoured Swaledale wool for floor underlay.

This sheep breed is one of the most resilient and hard-wearing in the British clip and like all wools, provide excellent insulating properties.

USING WOOL

The resulting felts impart the wools natural characteristics thus ensuring excellent spring and durability in the felt and thereby improving the all-round performance of the carpets.

Their wool underlay is produced entirely from clean scoured chemical free wool staple on a jute scrim, it is therefore itself recyclable.

It has superb insulation properties and a natural resilience that will also absorb irregularities in the under-floor, thereby prolonging carpet life. Both Brown and Swaledale wool underlays from Fairbank Textiles offer superb quality and durability.
