Who we are…

Founded in 1994, Linwood is a third-generation family-run business based in Hampshire, that takes its name from the small village in the picturesque New Forest where its current directors grew up. Our talented design team finds inspiration in a wealth of sources and the walls of our creative studio are covered with our finds, from an exquisitely coloured Japanese kimono to ancient Byzantine textiles to a painting from a Buddhist temple.

Our Philosophy…

Linwood is a British brand that places creativity and innovation at the core of everything that it does. With a firm belief that colour and pattern bring joy to a scheme, we draw on classic English style and imbue it with a contemporary spirit, producing exclusive collections of fabrics, wallpapers and cushions that brim with personality and charm. Working with traditional and newfound materials, we are constantly finding novel ways to innovate, developing sustainable, more ecologically responsible fabrics that are as beautiful as they are practical.

Our Romney Collection…

We are hugely excited to announce the launch of our Romney British wool collection that combines the excellent qualities of Romney wool with the talents of the finest spinners, dyers, weavers and finishers, all based in Yorkshire and Lancashire. ‘The wool has been finished to give it a luxuriously soft texture, making it the perfect choice for upholstery as well as curtains,’ says Warrick Gloyn, Sales Director of Linwood. He continues, ‘It’s durable, eco-friendly, stain- and fire-resistant by design, and it has been piece-dyed to provide an alluring array of colour options.’ For interior designer Lindsey Rendell of Rendall & Wright, the softness of the fabric makes it a winning choice for upholstery: ‘It’s incredibly tactile and cosy,’ she approves, adding, ‘It looks particularly fantastic on tailored pieces.’ Pictured here, on the sofa and ottoman from üp Sofas, in gorgeous spice tones – Honeycomb and Burnt Toffee – the fabrics bring a lovely warmth to the scheme.
