British Wool at Great Yorkshire Show

The British Wool shop’s Great Yorkshire debut

Thousands of people flocked to Harrogate to the sold-out Great Yorkshire Show 2022. Celebrating agriculture, food, farming and all things countryside! It was great for British Wool to have a physical presence again and speak to new and old friends in person- a slice of normality after a few years too many away.

On the back of the positive launch of the British Wool shop in 2021 and as part of our strategy of targeting consumers as well as showcasing a number of our brand partners’ products such as apparel, bedding and insulation we were also selling a limited range of products on the stand.  The products on sale were pillows and socks and during the show we managed to sell the vast majority of the stock we had taken to the show.  It was great to see so much interest in the products we were showcasing.

Displaying a wide variety of end products to the public all verified through the British Wool licensing scheme allows us to spread the word and encourage consumers to look for the iconic Shepherd’s Crook logo on the products they are purchasing.

Educating consumers on the benefits of wool as well as selling on behalf of our brand partners is all part of the effort to drive demand for British wool and in turn increasing the returns we are able to make to our members.

Going forward we would like to continue and expand the number of commercial stands we attend each year, bringing regional wool products and brands with us.
